Ucluelet, meaning "safe harbour", provides its visitors with adventures
and activities such as nature cruises, diving, and whale watching tours
and the Barkley Sound is a wonderful place to fish for cod, halibut and
salmon or to do some deep sea fishing on the wide open ocean.
Only
a ten minute drive away, visitors can stop in at the Wickanninish
Center and experience the displays, educational films and exhibits
about the magnificent ocean. Take a walk along the 30 kilometers of
sandy beaches of the Long Beach unit of Pacific Rim National Park
Reserve or explore the sand dunes.

House of Ucluelet is the only easily accessible lighthouse on the
well-known "Graveyard of the Pacific" and is a reputable landmark to
visit as well as the Coast Guard Station.
If you enjoy a
strenuous walk or hike, follow the Half Moon Trail or Gold Mine Trail
to Florencia Bay where you can take in the breathtaking scenery of its
beaches. Take a hike lasting less than an hour along the Wild Pacific
